Facts about Pan Africa, Sengal, Cameroon, Zambia, Zimbabwe Relief from third world poverty and hunger in Africa

Across the African continent, the International Children’s Fund works with local Christian missionaries to provide funds, food, clothing, medicine, and supplies directly to those in greatest need. Our programs start by sustaining life, then move on to lay the groundwork for self-sufficiency. It’s a team effort, bringing together volunteer staff in the US and local African ministers — some of whom we have partnered with for 20+ years.

The programs in each country and region differ, but the ultimate objective is always the same: helping desperately poor children and families survive and get back on their feet, while introducing them to the love of Christ.

  • In Cameroon, Dr. Clementine Dackam uses her skill as a physician to address tragic deaths from preventable and treatable illnesses. Her focus is on the tremendous shortage of medical supplies and equipment, a situation we will help remedy with a very large medical shipment to Cameroon in the coming months
  • Rick Slager and Mission Inner Senegal labor against stiff resistance in one of Africa’s most Islamic countries, distributing medicine and educational materials, drilling water wells, and providing economic help along with a Christian presence
  • After leaving Islam and finding faith in Christ, Sam Baihinga’s passion for ministry has spread across Sierra Leone. In addition to founding several churches, he maintains a health clinic and ministries to disabled adults and orphaned children victimized by the country’s bloody, decade-long civil war
  • In Zambia, the late Pastor Stewart Sichilongo dedicated his life to coordinating a network of 20 churches with active caring ministries in the community. We will surely miss Pastor Sichilongo. We are thankful that another local man, Pastor Benjamin has accepted the call the go forward with working in the church. Pastor Sichilongo's wife Julia continues to focus her work on championing the cause of women and promoting women’s ministry.
  • The situation in Zimbabwe is especially troubling. Governmental strife and hyperinflation of 100,000% have made it nearly impossible for Kenneth Mawire and the Apostolic Faith Missions to meet the needs of children for basic food, clothing and rudimentary medical care. ICF volunteers in the US keep in close contact with Pastor Mawire to meet any possible relief need

Our ministers have a boundless passion to help those in distress. Their only limitation is scarce resources. For every child we help today, hundreds go wanting. With your support we can come to the aid of yet another child… or another family… or another village. The need is so great it goes beyond words. Will you help us widen the scope of Christian ministry across the continent? Please help now with a tax-deductible donation to the International Children’s Fund.
